  4. This is my first time ever doing yoga. I suffer from severe anxiety, depression and PTSD. This pandemic has finally gotten to me as well. I spoke with my therapist and she suggested yoga and I laughed at her. Wow I’m shocked!! I landed in the emergency room three days ago and nothing helped but this video did! Thank you so so much I subscribed and will be back for more.

  5. Yesterday I became frustrated with my supervisor, which caused me to feel anxious (working from home in higher education isn't easy at all). Last night I made myself cry so I can release all the built up stress I've had since this summer. I woke up this morning still not feeling 💯 so I decided to come to this video, and I'm so glad I did. Through this covid/working from home life, I've had to learn how to take care of myself intentionally, and content like this is definitely a tool. I pray that everyone who is going through this practice gets the release you're looking for and know that you are going to get through this!

    Stress and anxiety are common experiences for most people. In fact, 70% of adults in the United States say they feel stress or anxiety daily.

    Get active
    Virtually any form of physical activity can act as a stress reliever. Even if you're not an athlete or you're out of shape, exercise can still be a good stress reliever.

    Physical activity can pump up your feel-good endorphins and other natural neural chemicals that enhance your sense of well-being. Exercise can also refocus your mind on your body's movements, which can improve your mood and help the day's irritations fade away. Consider walking, jogging, gardening, housecleaning, biking, swimming, weightlifting or anything else that gets you active.

    Eat a healthy diet
    Eating a healthy diet is an important part of taking care of yourself. Aim to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, and whole grains.

    Avoid unhealthy habits
    Some people may deal with stress by drinking too much caffeine or alcohol, smoking, eating too much, or using illegal substances. These habits can harm your health.

  11. thank you so much, adriene. i really needed this today. im stressed because of work + uni and unfortunately my great grandmother passed away last week. the stress and sadness have gotten so extreme, that i feel dizzy a lot because of the tension in my shoulder and neck area. but this and your other videos really help me let go of that tension and stress. i cried three times during this practice but i feel a lot better now, thank you <3

I haven't done yoga since my boxing days, but I am diagnosed with clinical anxiety and while trying to write this paper for my psychology class I was looking for anything to help relieve some anxiety. After doing this entire session I feel great! If just doing something like this for 20 mins can help my anxiety as it just had, I might have to take up yoga full time lol you have a new sub in me!
